Chiqui García (b. 1979)
Beyond the dictates of time, his hand slips away to rest his gaze on that “nature” that others have stopped seeing. His art approaches grass, the head of a rush, a bean, the reflection of a broad bean. He also sculpts, one by one, the parts of a succulent plant, transporting us to another sphere of life, linked in series, each piece tracing its aura, upon the gaze of the thirsty, the voracious, the one who never stops. When his objects intertwine in your life: a unique experience touches the body, like a subtle chord for you to become its neighbor.
It is not without music that his carving finds its place in wood, which was about to suffer the fate of waste, intervening only those nerves, perhaps ribs, to rise again and be returned to the landscape.
The tiny ceases to be ephemeral; the small regains, with its imprint, that beauty that was thought to be lost.
Born in Malargüe-Mendoza, Argentina, Pablo “Chiqui” García displayed a remarkable interest and aptitude for art from an early age, creating sculptures in brick, wood, and various materials. A self-taught artist, he works across multiple expressive forms such as music, sculpture, performance, and ceramics, with a focus on ecological and spiritual themes.
With over 20 years of experience, García has developed a distinctive style characterized by creativity, innovation, and a deep sense of dedication and passion evident in every piece. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Latin America and Europe and has completed artist residencies in Colombia, Bolivia, and Switzerland.
Since 2016, his work has been created between Zurich, Switzerland; Mendoza, Argentina; and Lima, Peru.
Pati Camet (b. 1962)
Patricia Camet is a Peruvian artist born in New York in 1962. She graduated an Art Master at the Rhode Island School of Design. She lives and works in Lima.
Patricia Camet’s work unfolds around a coherent reflection on the problems caused by our excessive consumption patterns, our impact on the environment and our new forms of communication. She becomes an archaeologist of the present while producing this iconic objects of material culture which built itself in the snapshot. Sanctifying everyday objects and landscapes that are familiar to her, she reveals with poetry the challenges of our accelerated lives and the consequences that we do not take the time to understand. Playful and tender, the works of Patricia Camet are also to be a pedagogical work of universal scope.
